FINAL BLOG
I think blogging was a good experience for me. Sometimes just putting thoughts down is good to get stuff of your chest. My favorite topic this year to blog about was when I talked about the Civil Wars. My least favorite blog this year was talking about the Harlem Renaissance. Most of the time i put some effort into my blogs, but other times if i was in a rush to finish i would quickly breeze through some of my blogs. I learned how to sorts all of my ideas into a little amount of space from blogging. My favorite stories we read this year were The Crucible, anyone lived in a pretty how town, and the one about the guy who got hung.
Advice
Hello Miss Wolff Junior English is a great class. One thing with Juniors is making sure everyone in class is interested at one point at the year. I know that everyone will not be into everything you do, but doing different stuff throughout the year to interest everyone in the class is a good thing to do. Also having at least one book throughout the year that is a great read is good to keep people interested.
Gatsby Blog
I believe that since The Great Gatsby took place during the jazz age jazz music would be a good fit for it. I think the first i would choose would be "Charleston" by James P. Johnson. This would be a good song because during the twenties this was a very popular song to dance to and would fit well in one of Gatsby's parties. Another good song would be "St. Louis Blues" by W.C. Handy. This would be a good song because it talks about a hopeless love and his girl is leaving town and this is kind of like Daisy and Gatsby.
Mark Twain
"A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval." I think that this is a very true quote. A lot of times in life some people may be pressured to do things they do not want to do and it makes them feel uncomfortable. Whether it is the clothes they were or the shows they watch people will do anything to "be cool." This quote says how man should not worry about what other people say and just be themselves. If you live life the way you want to you will have no regrets and you can be comfortable with your life other than doing stuff that will make you uncomfortable.

The Civil Wars
The Civil Wars is a music group from Nashville, Tennessee consisting of Joy Williams and John Paul White. They have an incredible talent to live their music and bring it out in the most incredible way possible. This band brings together a unique blend of folk, blues, and alternative country. Their amazing harmonies bring a new style of music that captures the ear. I have been listening to The Civil Wars for around a year now and I have loved them since the beginning. They have been nominated for several awards and won a few, including two Grammy's this year in "Best Folk Album" and "Best Country Duo/Group Performance" for their song Barton Hallow. The Civil Wars is a band that everyone should know about and they have been b lessed by God with an amazing talent to bring music to this world.
Civil Rights Movement
Back during the Civil Rights movement there was a sit in with kids from North Carolina A&T College. These kids were freshman and they were refused their food. Because of this, they continued to sit there in a sign of protest. They returned each and everyday for the sit in. Eventually there were thousands of protesters at this building. The sit ins actually spread over 13 states. This reminds me of the story we read in class about the sit in. I think it is horrible that people let this happen to other human beings.
Harlem
One person I looked at was Duke Ellington. Ellington was one of the leading figures in jazz music throughout the Renascence era.The sisters thought about all the music that went on during this time. Duke Ellington was like a music prodigy from birth. He started playing piano at age six and he never looked back. Duke Ellington change music for the best and is one of the most well known jazz music players. Sadie and Bessie loved their time in Harlem and would not change it for the world.
