Research Paper

My research paper was about the effects of music piracy on the music industry. There was a lot of interesting information on this topic and I learned a lot. One thing that really surprised me was the effect Napster had on starting the whole music piracy business off. Without Napster I do not think the problem of music piracy would be as big as it is today. Another thing that i found interesting is the different reaction from bands about illegal music downloading. Bands, like Metallica, were completely against it when there were some other bands, such as Ween, who supported it completely.

Snowbound

Out of all the Romantic poems that we read during that unit my favorite poem was Snowbound. Snowbound was a happy poem about the first snowfall of the year. This poem used great descriptions in it to make me feel was if i was actually there. The story made me feel good inside after it was done and the excitement all the kids showed throughout it made me really appreciate all the little things in my life. The poem had a good source of allusion when they said the tunnel they made was life Aladins chamber and the alliteration in the story was well used.

Pit and the Pendulum

The walls are close in faster and faster but I do not know what to do. I look to my left and I look to my right and I see a saw hanging on the wall. As I grab the saw I think to myself, " Oh dear I was hoping it would not have to come to this!" I think of my options, in the split seconds a have left, and remember the accident I had when I was a child. I remember getting my leg crushed by a car in my youth and a majority of my leg was replaced with a metal rod. Without anymore thinking I start sawing through the top of my leg to try and receive the metal rod. The pain is endless only building up until finally the leg is off. I grab it and put it in between the wall, only right before they would have crushed me. As the walls finally stop moving I pass out, or so I think... I wake up from my unconsciousness to only realize I am in my bed realizing it was just a dream.
